Insurance and Excess Reduction (as of 1st April 2008)


Depot Business Hours:

     Monday to Saturday : 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (08:30 - 17:00) local time.
Sunday / Public Holidays : 8:30 am - 1:00 pm (08:30 - 13:00)
Pick ups or returns outside of business hours are available on request. Thereis a charge of NZ$50 for after hour’s vehicle collections. Late returns are invoiced on a daily basis. Customers are advised to arrange foraccommodation before and after the hire period.

Airport Transfers & Vehicle delivery

We offer a complimentary transfer between airports and our depots. Please advise your arrival details.
Auckland & Christchurch and or Picton on Request with NZ$250 relocation fee.

One Way Rentals

One way rentals are available between Auckland & Christchurch no extra charge but must be organised at time of booking.

Returning Vehicles

Vehicles have to be returned on the date, place and time as shown on the contract. Late returns will result in extra charges.

The hirer is obliged to return the vehicle:

  • With a fuel level that is marked on the damage sheet.
  • In a reasonable clean condition.
  • With empty holding tank and toilet.
      Extra charges apply should these obligations be ignored

Rental Charges

  • Rental charges for campervans / motorhomes & recreational vehicles are calculated on a daily basis, irrespective of pick-up time and include unlimited kilometers and GST. There is a minimum rental period of 7 days.
  • Charges for cars are based on a 24 hour period.
  • All prices are in New Zealand dollars except where indicated otherwise.

Optional Extras 

The following charges will apply for optional extras on your hire.

  
Child Seat / Booster Seat $25 per hire
TV Unit $50 per hire
DVD Unit $50 per hire
Porta Potti Toilet $50 per hire

Drivers Licence and Minimum Age 

A valid national drivers licence is required. National drivers licences, which are not in English, need to be presented in conjunction with an official translation or valid international drivers licence.
The minimum driver age is
21 years.


Insurance 

Campervans

STANDARD INSURANCE (Compulsory):
$16.00 per day with an excess of
NZ $1500 for drivers over 25 years (NZ$2000 for drivers of 21 to 24

years, GST Included). A credit card imprint is sufficient. Maximum charge of $800 per hire.
WINDSCREEN AND TYRE COVER:

$6.00/per day with NIL excess. Maximum charge of $300 per hire.
INSURANCE OPTION 1 :
$36.00 per day will reduce the excess for any
vehicle to $250.00 ($500 for drivers 21 to 24 years).
This option includes
standard insurance and windscreen/tyre cover. Maximum charge of $1800 per hire.


Cars

STANDARD INSURANCE (Compulsory):

$14.00 per day with an excess of NZ$750 for drivers over 25 years (NZ$1000 for drivers of 21 to 24 years,

GST Included). A credit card imprint is sufficient. Maximum charge of $700 per hire
WINDSCREEN AND TYRE COVER:
$6.00/per day with NIL excess.
Maximum charge of $300 per hire
INSURANCE OPTION 1 :
$32.00 per day will reduce the excess for any
vehicle to $100.00 ($250 for drivers 21 to 24 years).
This option includes
standard insurance and windscreen/tyre cover. Maximum charge of $1600 per hire.


Exclusions 

Unless tyre and windscreen cover is purchased, the hirer will be fully liable for replacing or repairing

damaged windscreens and tyres.


Security Bond 

The security bond is equal to the excess amount under the insurance option chosen (see above).

A credit card imprint is sufficient for these purposes. If paid in cash or by traveler cheque, the security

bond will be refunded at the end of hire according to the conditions below.


Security Bond Refunds 

     The bond is will not be charged on return of the vehicle provided that:
  • The vehicle is returned to the agreed location at the agreed time
  • No damage is incurred to the vehicle or any 3rd party property
  • Waste water tank and toilet have been emptied
  • No items belonging to the motorhome have been lost or damaged
  • All traffic fines have been paid
  • The vehicle is returned in a reasonably clean condition

The security bond can be paid by cash, traveller's cheque or credit card. If paying by credit card

an imprint will be taken, but the account will not be debited if all of the above conditions are met.


Travel Insurance 

In New Zealandpersonal injury is covered by the Accident Compensation Commission, however, We strongly recommends that all clients take out Personal Travel Insurance.


Restricted Roads 

Vehicles can only be driven on sealed or well-maintained roads. No vehicle can be taken on Skippers Road(Queenstown), Ninety Mile Beach (Northland), Ball Hut Road (Mt.Cook) and North of Colville Township

(Coromandel Peninsula).


Cancellation Fees 

Please note that the Booking Deposit is non-refundable.

In the event that you wish to cancel your booking the following fees apply:

  • If cancelled 21 days prior to pick up : No fee.
  • If cancelled within 21 days to 6 days of pick-up : 20% of total reservation cost.
  • If cancelled within 5 days of pick-up or no show : 50% of total reservation cost.
  • Early return of vehicle : No refund for any unused portion of the rental is available.

Rental Period Extension 

A hire extension is subject to availability and authorisation from us. The extra cost of an extended rental must be paid by credit card over the telephone on confirmation of the rental extension.


Repair Approval 

Repairs of up to $50.00 may be made without authorization and will be reimbursed, provided that all receipts

are submitted and the hirer was not directly responsible for the damage. Amounts above $50.00 require approval

from our company.

No responsibility will be accepted for accommodation charges, meals or out of- pocket expenses resulting from a breakdown unless it has been approved by our company.

Our liability extends only to refund of rental charges for any days of total loss of vehicle usage caused by a mechanical breakdown, provided the hirer notifies our office as soon as possible to give us the opportunity to rectify the problem.

Substitute Vehicles 

We reserve the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle at no extra cost in some circumstances. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the hirer to any refund. Should this not be

possible, we will refund each full day of the hire that is lost.
