CAMPERVAN RENTAL RATES:

The Campervan rental company uses smartrates to determine the daily rental rate. The smartrates are released by each Friday effective for sale from the following Monday. As such all rates/quotes expire at the close at the close of business on Sunday. The smartrate for the entire duration of the rental is determined by the date of pick-up, location and date of booking. The daily rate will not change within one booking. Amendments prior to pick-up will be re-calculated at the smartrate applicable on the date of amendment. This applies to changing the vehicle type, reducing the number of rental days, changing pick-up dates or changing the pick-up or drop-off location. Where the number of rental days is being extended prior to pick-up, the extended days will be charged at the original smart rate which applied at the time of the original booking.

The credit card holder will be jointly and severally liable as a customer.
Accepted credit cards are:

• American Express

A 1.5% surcharge will apply to all credit card transactions.

All credit card transactions are conducted in New Zealand dollars. Due to exchange rate fluctuations there could be some variance in the amount refunded compared to the amount initially charged. Maui Motorhomes accepts no liability for these variances, up or down.

RENTAL DURATION:

We calculate the number of days a campervan is rented on a CALENDAR DAY BASIS. The day of pick-up is counted as day one of the rental and the day the vehicle is returned is counted as the final day of the rental.

When a rental moves from one rate season into the next, the calculation is based on both rates.

MINIMUM HIRE PERIODS:

Minimum rental period is five days. Minimum rental period ten days for hires between 23 December  and 10 January. Minimum rental period is subject to change during peak periods.

ONE-WAY RENTALS:

One-way rentals are available between all branch locations. A one-way rental fee of NZ$50 is charged for rentals between the North to South Island where pick up is between 01 November 2006 and 31 March 2007.

DIESEL TAX RECOVERY FEE:

The Diesel Tax Recovery fee will be calculated and collected on return of your vehicle based on the kilometres travelled during your hire.

The vehicle rates per 100km are as follows:

2 Berth Buzza: Nil

2 Berth Coaster: NZ$3.20

4 Berth Quattro: NZ$3.40

6 Berth Six Pack: NZ$3.70

Rates are subject to Government changes.

TRANSFERS:

The campervan company provides free airport to branch and branch to airport transfer on day of arrival and departure for our Auckland and Christchurch Branches. Customers can also take the Airbus Free of Charge from downtown Auckland to the Auckland Branch on day of pick up. Queenstown branch is located at the airport. The Wellington agency is located 40 minutes from the airport and clients must find their own transportation to and from the branch, at their own expense.

WELLINGTON & QUEENSTOWN:

An additional location fee of NZ$100 applies to all campervans picking up or dropping off in Wellington or Queenstown. If the pick-up and drop off occurs in the same city, only one NZ$100 location fee will apply.

FOR YOUR PROTECTION:

New Zealand legislation provides limited coverage for personal injury. We strongly recommend that all people travelling in New Zealand take out Personal Travel Insurance.

All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third Party. The hirer is responsible for the first NZ$2,500 (“the excess”) for Campervans and the first NZ$1,000 (“the excess”)

The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental. Please see the Exclusions section below, whereby all Excess Reduction cover will be made void.
This excess can be reduced, in most circumstances, by the purchase of Excess Reduction Option 1 or Excess Reduction Option 2.

EXCESS REDUCTION OPTION 1

Cost per day excess reduced to:

$12 - $1,200 – 2 Berth Buzza and 2 Berth Coaster

$15 - $1,800 – 4 Berth Quattro and 6 Berth Six Pack

With Excess Reduction Option 1 the hirer is responsible for the first NZ$1800 for the Quattro and Six Pack and NZ$1200 for the Buzza and Coaster of ANY ACCIDENT COST of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break in or vandalism. This also includes the cost of the daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs (demurrage).The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

EXCESS REDUCTION OPTION 2

Cost per day excess reduced to:

$22 - $0— 2 Berth Buzza and 2 Berth Coaster

$28 - $0—4 Berth Quattro and 6 Berth Six Pack

With Excess Reduction Option 2 the hirer will not have to pay excess at all for any damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break in or vandalism. This also includes the cost of the daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs (demurrage). The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

NO WORRIES COVER OPTION – (PCO2)

The no worries cover option is only available when excess reduction 2 has been purchased.
The no worries cover option extends the cover available with excess reduction 2 to include cover for accidental damage to the overhead and underbody sections of the motorhome.
Please note overhead and underbody damage cover is excluded unless the no worries cover option has been purchased.
